A Wonderful Week

Image
Very recently myself and my love - Christy-Anne Strike  - have happened upon an incredible place in NDG - Kensington Presbyterian Church .  My great friend, Chris March had continuously invited me to the church for pizza and movie nights on Fridays at 6:30pm.  Finally in early December we were able to attend - with a number of my group.  It was at that time that I got to meet the minister, Peter Rombeek, along with his wife and two boys.  Instantly I was drawn to him and his family and was tremendously impressed with his commitment to his people - going above and beyond the call to making our evening great. I decided on that night that I was going to make the church a regular part of my life - and support Peter in any way I could. I have a car and am more than happy to drive my friends to events I am attending.  In the weeks to follow we have filled up the car and attended the Pizza/Movie Nights - to everyone's great enjoyment. On Saturday Dec. 14th, Peter ...

An Event Not of be Missed

For over a year now I had been advised of a great community Christmas Dinner hosted by the wonderful people who operate the NDG Community Council.  It took place today - Christmas Day - at Concordia University's Loyola Campus - in the Buzz Cafeteria from 1-7pm. Myself and my friends - a group of 5 of us - showed up at about 2:45pm.  There was a small lineup of no more than 20 people waiting for tables in the large hall.  Inside of 10 minutes the lady at the reception called out 'group of 5' - and proceeded to show us to our table. Within a matter of minutes - a really nice man, Stash, came by - asking us what we would like to drink and giving us the choice of coffee, tea, water or apple juice (fresh).  At that point he also asked us if we were ready to eat - to which we all said yes!  Almost immediately he returned with our beverages and right behind him were two other volunteers carrying the 5 heaping plates of food. The meal was exceptional!  It featured ...

The Key to the Universe

My story is a long and amazing journey.  In January of 2004, as I lay comatose in a bed in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit of the Montreal General Hospital for 3 days - a reel played on continuous loop in my heart and mind.  It followed my entire life - from my most junior years - to a time which at that point I had not even experienced.  God gave the name of this journey - ' Come Away With Me.  The ongoing story of the life of Ross Harvey .' It is 20 years later and this name - and the journey have stayed ever-present in my heart and mind.  God told me that He would create a series of movies about my journey and would follow this by continuous live streamed episodes - as myself and a group of 300 'Pioneers' traveled across the worlds - seeking out new horizons. Please get my books; Come Away with Me and Rebel With A Cause - which together form the collective of my life's journey - my memoirs.   For the movies, God has told me that there will be no ...

Exploring New Horizons...

I have been far away for awhile now - focused on my writing and creating.  The sum total of my efforts now is 21 published books and 14 published songs !  I have decided to relax and enjoy for the entire month of December - calling it 'The Month of Ross!' In this month I had decided to eat out at my favourite restaurants 6 days/week - spending every Tuesday at our local food bank - Resto Depot - where they serve a very nice meal along with live music.  I sent a message to my family about this and my sister Susan messaged me back saying she thought that 6 days/week was excessive.  She is always the voice of moderation - and in this case I believe she is right!  I have decided to eat out 3 days/week - and to visit all of my favourite restaurants at least once/month, including: Le Manoir NDG - western omelette with cheese Nikas - pork souvlaki plate or hamburger steak Chalet BBQ - chicken, fries, buns and sauce Geez - Fraz burger, frings and two Coors Lights Yangt...
