π¬ COME AWAY WITH ME — THE TRAILER IS HERE!
Today, a dream became something we can actually watch.
The first trailer for Come Away With Me is now online.
And as I sit here watching these 105 seconds, I find myself thinking about how unlikely this whole adventure has been.
A short time ago, I had a story.
I had an iMac.
I had an AI I affectionately call Einstein.
And I had a dream:
Could one ordinary person, working from home with artificial intelligence, create a beautiful feature film and somehow offer it to the world as a Christmas gift?
Today, we took a very big step toward answering that question.
Come Away With Me is the story of a life.
My life.
But I hope, ultimately, it becomes a story about all of our lives.
It is about dreams pursued and dreams lost.
About falling down and beginning again.
About finding love when you least expect it.
About neighbours, strangers and the extraordinary importance of seemingly insignificant moments.
About discovering that perhaps the greatest things in life aren't somewhere over the horizon at all.
Perhaps they have been sitting quietly beside us all along.
And behind this film is another dream that has become almost as important to me as the movie itself.
What if everybody could tell their story?
For generations, filmmaking has largely belonged to people with studios, crews, expensive equipment and substantial budgets.
Artificial intelligence may be changing that forever.
Over the past several days, Einstein and I have been experimenting, failing, laughing, starting over, learning—and creating.
Voice by voice.
Sequence by sequence.
Two minutes at a time.
And today there is a trailer.
Tomorrow?
Who knows.
Perhaps somewhere in the world there is a grandmother with an extraordinary story that her grandchildren have never heard.
Perhaps there is a teacher, a mechanic, a nurse, a farmer, a veteran, a mother, a dreamer—or a 12-year-old child—with a movie living inside them.
For the first time in history, we may be approaching a world in which the ability to put that story on a screen belongs not merely to Hollywood—
but to everyone.
That possibility excites me enormously.
There is still a tremendous amount of work ahead of us. This is a first trailer, and the film itself remains a work in progress.
But today I don't want to think about everything still left to do.
Today, I simply want to celebrate what has been done.
There was an idea.
Then there were words.
Then there were pictures.
Then voices.
Then music.
And now…
there is a movie beginning to come alive.
I invite you to watch the trailer.
Turn up the sound.
Give us 105 seconds.
And then perhaps ask yourself one little question:
What story is living inside me?
Because maybe the greatest Christmas gift we can give isn't simply one movie.
Maybe it is helping millions of people realize—
they can make theirs too.
COME AWAY WITH ME
A film about love.
A film about purpose.
A film about beginning again.
And perhaps, most of all, a film about discovering that Heaven isn't somewhere we have to wait for.
Maybe Heaven begins here.
