🌟 Become a Block Captain – Help Transform NDG, One Neighbourhood at a Time! 🌟
Imagine living in a neighbourhood where neighbours truly know one another... where no senior is forgotten, no family struggles alone, children grow up surrounded by caring adults, and kindness becomes the defining characteristic of our community.
That is the vision behind A NuVo World, and it begins with one simple step: Block Captains.
I'm looking for caring, compassionate people from every block in NDG who would like to become the heart of their own neighbourhood.
What does a Block Captain do?
A Block Captain isn't a politician or an authority figure. Rather, they are a friend, a connector, and a catalyst for positive change. Their role is to:
• Welcome new neighbours and help them feel at home.
• Get to know the people living on their block.
• Check in on seniors and those who may be isolated.
• Help identify families or individuals who could use a helping hand.
• Organize occasional neighbourhood gatherings, clean-ups, or social events.
• Encourage neighbours to help one another.
• Connect people with the many initiatives of A NuVo World, including Feed NDG, community gardens, youth programs, wellness initiatives, and much more.
• Share ideas from their neighbours so that together we can continue building a stronger NDG.
No special qualifications are required—only a caring heart and a desire to make a difference.
My vision is bold—but entirely achievable.
Imagine nearly every block in NDG having its own Block Captain.
Imagine hundreds of neighbours working together instead of living as strangers.
Imagine knowing that every senior is visited regularly, every child has positive role models nearby, every struggling family has someone looking out for them, and every resident knows they belong to a caring community.
Imagine beautiful neighbourhood gatherings, cleaner streets, stronger local businesses, greater food security, safer communities, and friendships forming between people who may never otherwise have met.
This is how great communities are built—not from the top down, but from neighbour to neighbour.
Over time, these Block Captains will become the foundation upon which we build many other exciting initiatives throughout NDG, creating a community that people around the world will look to as a model of what is possible when people work together with kindness, compassion, and purpose.
I truly believe NDG can become one of the most caring and connected communities anywhere.

The Key to the Universe

My story is a long and amazing journey.  In January of 2004, as I lay comatose in a bed in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit of the Montreal General Hospital for 3 days - a reel played on continuous loop in my heart and mind.  It followed my entire life - from my most junior years - to a time which at that point I had not even experienced.  God gave the name of this journey - ' Come Away With Me.  The ongoing story of the life of Ross Harvey .' It is 20 years later and this name - and the journey have stayed ever-present in my heart and mind.  God told me that He would create a series of movies about my journey and would follow this by continuous live streamed episodes - as myself and a group of 300 'Pioneers' traveled across the worlds - seeking out new horizons.
