A Sports and Movie Sunday!

It was a busy day for Christy and I today - Sunday.  We were up early to go for the American Buffet Breakfast at Playground Poker - where you get an amazing buffet for $15 - no tax or tip - with a $10 play voucher each which we very much enjoyed - playing but losing ultimately on electronic blackjack!  From there we did a tour of Chateauguay - Christy's stomping grounds in her youth.  We then got our groceries at Super C on St. Jacques and ended up in little Parc Leduc - next to Kensington Presbyterian Church on Grand Blvd - sitting in big Adirondack chairs - enjoying the sun and breeze - along with the music coming from a morning of Yoga in the Park.

Christy headed to church just down the street at St. Ansgar's and I went home to watch the French Open Men's Tennis Final - between world #1 Jannick Sinner and world #2 Carlos Alcaraz.  It was an incredible 5&1/2 hour battle with Sinner taking the first two sets and Alcaraz coming back to win in 5 sets - 7-6 in the fifth!  The proceedings were so long they ran over into another big sporting event - The RBC Canadian Open Golf Tournament - at Osprey Valley in Caledon, ON - where the lead changed hands many times over the afternoon - with Ryan Fox of New Zealand winning a four hole playoff over Sam Burns of the U.S. - who had carded an amazing 62 - 8 under par on his Sunday round.

In the middle of the afternoon I turned off the television in favour of watching a movie - V For Vendetta - with Christy.  Just looking at the cover of the movie I wasn't so certain I would enjoy it - but by the end I was cheering for V - the movies' hero.  I won't tell you much about this, but will say that it is in the library system for anyone from Montreal to borrow.  I encourage you to - and believe you will count it as I do as one of my favourite movies.  November 5th will always have significance to me - and if I didn't see things getting better - as I do - I may have even been rallied to try to effect change in the way that V did!

Following the movie - and the golf playoff - Christy and I made 'eggs in the hole' - carving out holes in English muffins and grilling them with an egg in the hole.  They came out even better than on bread - especially with a healthy helping of liquified and hot butter over them!

It was yet another glorious day in our 'continuous, upward and never-ending spiral through the infinite levels of Heaven (on Earth)!'  I hope you got to see the tennis or golf if that was something you value - and I hope you will check out V for Vendetta - and maybe even try eggs in the hole - with butter!

All my love,
