Sunday Fun Day!
Today started out as all others - with our visit to Kahnawake - and Playground Poker - for their amazing $15 American Buffet Breakfast - which is really only $5 as you get $10 in Free Play along with the buffet! We enjoyed the great buffet and then toured the entire facility - with me showing Christy the third floor - which houses the entire poker facility. It was relatively active - with upwards of 10 of the 50-odd tables in use for regular games.
We then went to the cashier and traded in our vouchers for coupons - whereby Christy got an extra $50 in Free Play for visiting the casino for a third time inside 45 days (I got mine yesterday) and I got an extra $20 in Free Play for having liked Playground on Facebook and Instagram. From there we went to the Electronic Blackjack Table - and played for about 15 minutes. The end result was that Christy played $60 of Free Play Coupons and ended up cashing out $55 and I played my $50 Free Play coupon from yesterday and cashed out $47.50 - so in reality even though we played $110 and took back $102.50 - we really hadn't spent a dime - and therefore profited to the tune of $102.50!
Feeling great as we always do after a wonderful breakfast and a brief moment playing in the casino - we decided to take a drive around Christy's old neighbourhood of Chateauguay. The entire area is coming to life as the weather warms and clears! There were several Garage Sales - and evidence of many boats and docks being lowered into the Chateauguay River. We saw a young boy with a fishing rod and Christy remarked 'about all he'll catch is a couple of tin cans!' We were back on the road to Montreal - and due to some backup on the Mercier Bridge were too late to engage in our usual couple of games of billiards at Rose Bowl Lanes - as I was almost late in delivering Christy to St. Ansgar's Church for 11am.
I went home and turned the TV on - looking forward to a couple of hours of Rolland Garros tennis. As an ardent tennis and golf fan - I can and do spend many hours in front of the TV watching the BIG events. This is one!
When Christy came home I asked her if she wanted to watch a movie - and she chose Same Kind of Different As Me - a movie featuring Greg Kinnear and Renee Zellwiger. Our paths are such that we know that virtually everything we do is God-led - and this movie was simply an illustration of this. Renee did an amazing job of portraying Debbie Hall in this real-life drama - a woman with a heart bigger than their home state of Texas. It was an absolutely beautiful movie that I recommend everybody watch. I was so amazed by the film that immediately I found Ron Hall's website and sent him a message in the interest of connecting with him and somehow helping him to further his cause.
As I wrote this message, in my mind I was singing Another Day in Paradise - by Phil Collins! I hope you all use this blog post to make your days more like paradise in the immediate - by listening to God's still, small voice and following where it leads.
All my love,
