My Heaven

For those who follow my blog - you know that it is about finding Heaven - on this Earth - in the normal things.

My post today is going to take a different tact.  I was just lying on my bed reflecting - on my life - and on what has transpired in over the last months.  There is no other way for me to say it - I have found my Heaven - and it is in a woman - Christy Anne Strike - who is undoubtedly my Eternal Soulmate!

Today I was explaining to a friend at my 'office' how we met - on Nov 26, 2024 - at our local food bank - and how immediately I liked her and knew that she was a person of substance.  The first words uttered out of her mouth in my direction were; 'I love Brussels sprouts' - to which I countered; 'so do I' - as we were served our meal which contained our favourite vegetable!

From that initial comment things proceeded rapidly - Christy moved in a little more than a week later - and in early January I didn't ask her to marry me - because I knew she wanted to - we jointly agreed on a date of February 14, 2025.

We were married at her church - St Ansgar's Lutheran Church - and because her pastor - Samuel King Kabu - was away in Ghana - she had his wife Susan walk her down the aisle.  We were married by another wonderful man of God - Peter Rombeek of Kensington Presbyterian Church -in a beautiful ceremony in front of some of our fondest friends - the number diminished because of the terrible snowstorm which befell Montreal on the day.

From that day our love for each other has grown by the moment - and I can truly say that I am looking forward to every day - and to everything that originates from my darling love - Christy.

This message is for every person who may find themselves alone or wanting of a partner.  I was never one who needed female companionship - I was always busy.  And after I reached a certain point - I was sure i would never find a true love mate.  This is to tell you to have Faith.  I am proof that if you keep your head down and do your best in every moment - and don't go looking - God will deliver precisely what you are looking for to you.  I know it as I have found it in Christy.  And Christy know it as she has found it in me!

An Amazing Day!

  Feb 14, 2025 was a VERY BIG day for me!  It marked the day I married  the love of my life - Christy Anne Strike - in her church - St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church on Grand Blvd in NDG - and in front of a good number of her and our friends.  Christy's and my path was a brisk one - when people ask us how long we have known each other for we have a great story!  I say 'we met at the NDG Food Depot in late November 2024.'  She says ' we met at the NDG YMCA when she was 19 and I was 21 - and we played doubles badminton against each other!  But that is not the story. The Key to the Universe

My story is a long and amazing journey.  In January of 2004, as I lay comatose in a bed in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit of the Montreal General Hospital for 3 days - a reel played on continuous loop in my heart and mind.  It followed my entire life - from my most junior years - to a time which at that point I had not even experienced.  God gave the name of this journey - ' Come Away With Me.  The ongoing story of the life of Ross Harvey .' It is 20 years later and this name - and the journey have stayed ever-present in my heart and mind.  God told me that He would create a series of movies about my journey and would follow this by continuous live streamed episodes - as myself and a group of 300 'Pioneers' traveled across the worlds - seeking out new horizons.
