A Saturday to Remember!
We are trying to watch a movie everyday. I bought a very nice Panasonic DVD Player from FaceBook Marketplace - and we are getting DVD's from our local Benny and Cote St. Luc Libraries. Our choice for yesterday was from: Paths of Glory, Harvey, Casablanca, Love Story and The Green Mile. I chose Harvey - as Christy told me I would love it. And I did! I had questions going in about how they could make a story about a 6'8" invisible rabbit believable - and was fascinated by the entire film! There were some very memorable scenes - and I urge every one of you find a way to watch - whether on DVD or streaming from outfits like Amazon Prime.
At 5:15pm we started to head West - with our destination being MacAllan's Pub - for a very special evening with Jim Cuddy and Anne Lindsay. We went first to Costco in order to get 2 amazing hot dogs with 20 0z root beers - each of which being $1.49! It was raining heavily as we got to MacAllan's - for an outdoor benefit concert by Jim Cuddy for The Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence, The Shriner's Hospital and Dreams Take Flight. It was great to hear representatives of each organization pseaking passionately about what they do and how events such as these go a long way to helping these great organizations stay afloat and realize their objectives. Then it was time for the show! In all there were 900 tickets sold for the event - and while the weather didn't cooperate - Jim and Anne provided a wonderful 80 or 90 minute spectacle for the very enthusiastic (and wet!) crowd! We were right at the stage and it was an incredible, magical experience - a real feel good evening - where we connected with a great many people all there to get their fill of a couple of Canadian music legends! Much thanks to Wayne Blunt and everyone from MacAllan's who put on an incredible show!
So that was our day! It was filled with visits to two of our favourite places - Playground Poker and MacAllan's Pub - and also featured a great movie! I hope you take my suggestion and visit these places - and watch Harvey!
All my love,
